Briana Morris, a rising senior on the University of South Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ team, has been invited to be a part of the Sun Belt Conference's 2019 Diversity and Inclusion Summit at the league's annual meeting in Point Clear, Ala.
The panel will convene May 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Grand Hotel.
Morris will be the only student-athlete on a panel discussion featuring faculty athletic representatives from five member institutions and Scottie Rodgers, associate commissioner of the Sun Belt. They will review the book "Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People" and discuss what member institutions are doing to address diversity as well as best practices within an athletic department.
Dr. Katrice A. Albert, executive vice president of Inclusion and Human Resources at the NCAA, will also deliver a keynote address on inclusiveness in higher education.
Morris completed her third year as a member of the USA soccer program in 2018, where she ranked second on the team in points (9) and tied for third in goals (3). She was named to the Sun Belt all-Tournament team after recording a goal and three assists in two games.
