The Giving Season
Posted on October 9, 2020
The USA-United Way of Southwest 麻豆果冻传媒 campaign kicked off Sept. 23 and continues through Oct. 21. It鈥檚 a chance for the University community to help their neighbors.
South has a longstanding tradition of giving of supporting the United Way. Since 1998, USA employees and retirees have given almost $5.3 million funding nearly 50 partner programs in our area.
The United Way鈥檚 mission is to improve the quality of life, education, health, financial stability and access to life鈥檚 essentials for every person in the communities they serve.
鈥淵our donation to USA鈥檚 United Way campaign, no matter the amount makes a difference and is vitally important,鈥 said USA President Dr. Tony Waldrop.
All money raised during the campaign stays in the local communities served by the UWSWA. They include, Mobile, Choctaw, Clarke and Washington counties. The programs help provide nutritious meals to families in need, offer counseling services for individuals and families in crisis, deliver rapid response during emergencies and more.
The COVID-19 pandemic has both changed the dynamic of the campaign and the need for our communities.
鈥淭he campaign may look different this year, but the need for your support is more important than ever,鈥 said USA campaign co-chair, Dr. Andre Green, associate vice president of academic affairs. 鈥淚 hope you will join me in investing in today鈥檚 youth through the USA campaign for the United Way.鈥
