Billing and Fees
Services performed at the Student Health Center are billed to the student's insurance. SHC accepts most major insurance plans. SHC will bill your insurance provider as a courtesy. You will be billed separately for any remaining balance that your insurance did not cover. If you do not have insurance or your insurance is not accepted at SHC you will be billed for all services at a discounted rate as seen fit by the SHC.
Students must provide a copy of their insurance card at each visit to the SHC. A copy of your insurance card may be uploaded in the student web portal. Please make sure to upload the front and back of the card.
It is the student's responsibility to check with their insurance plan to find out if the SHC is considered a participating provider and is in or out of network. Some insurances also require a referral before being seen at the SHC. Please verify with your insurance plan about what your copay, deductible, co-insurance, or out-of-network benefits will be.
You may receive a bill from another facility or provider for services such as laboratory or x-ray that were ordered by a SHC provider but processed or serviced at another location.
